So, I feel like a complete idiot when it comes to blogging and totally overwhelmed by Digg, del.ico.us, pinging and I’ve never even used Twitter! When did the world get so complicated? Or, where the heck have I been for the last few years?
If you happen to stumble upon this and actually know what you’re doing, could you throw me a bone? Please? I’d LOVE just one or two pieces of advice that I can work on NOW to find like-minded individuals and get my blog some traffic. Anything to get me off this desert island…
And if you sadly managed to find this without nary a clue yourself, here are a few sites that I found helpful, and/or overwhelming:
- A TON of apparently great AND current traffic tips by Nicholas Cardot
- Technorati.com – May be THE place to search the whole blogosphere for…anything.
- Easy how-to video by Chris Abraham:
Thanks and good luck (whichever applies)!

It looks like you have the basics down, since I actually came upon your site by searching Technorati for posts tagged with ‘blogging.’ And the content of your site is good, too.
I think that your questions are pretty common – when I set up my blog I wanted it to fit into what other people expected it to be, but in time I have come to realize it has to reflect me and my interests, and I’m just not that interested in Twitter, or some other really popular web services. I use the services I find attractive and useful, and in doing so I sometimes question whether I’m falling out of the loop, but most of the time I feel like I’m simply being more authentic.
Use what works for you – and unless you’re trying to make a living at this, don’t worry about having all of the details of content delivery figured out. You’re doing fine!

Thanks so much, Molly! For assuring me that I’m doing just fine and for reminding me to be authentic. (So fitting… See my latest post.)
I’m also thrilled that you, in particular, left a comment. Ages ago I made a piece of wool felt that has become very special to me. What I loved was working with the raw material itself, and I’ve since wanted to get reacquainted with that. Looks like my avenue appeared! Definitely not a coincidence as far as I’m concerned. Thank you again, Molly. I’m very excited to explore your blog!
